In my childhood, I saw my mom creating beautiful patterns on the floor and the walls on different occasions which always attracted my attention and inspired me to draw. I remember I used to notice patterns everywhere whether it was bricks in the house, or rope or wood or any animal skin or leaves or clouds, etc. I used to draw patterns in the back of all my subject notebooks a lot while studying in school, as drawing was my stress reliever.

My passion for pattern drawing and my culture inspired me to create ‘Rangolies’ at a very early age.

Rangoli is believed to bring good luck and positive energy to the surroundings. It is also a way of welcoming guests and celebrating the joyous spirit of festivals.

Rangoli designs can be intricate and geometric, featuring various patterns, shapes, and symbols. Common motifs include flowers, peacocks, paisley patterns, and religious symbols.

Creating Rangolies since childhood inspires me to create Mandalas too as I get older.

Especially after COVID-19, when everyone was trapped in their house then I wanted to help society with pattern drawing free live sessions. Because I already knew that pattern drawing ( Mandala, Zendala, Zendoodle, Zentangle, Rangoli, Mehendi, etc.) has a very meditative and very calm effect. So I thought it might help people stuck at home.

I was overwhelmed when people enjoyed and created wonderful pattern drawing artwork with me (Zendoodle, Zentangle, and Mandalas).

The term "mandala" - मंडला is derived from the ancient Indian Sanskrit language, meaning "circle."

Hence, we circularly draw all patterns. Start from the center and go outwards.
 

Because of their circular nature, creating or viewing mandalas is believed to promote a sense of balance, harmony, and inner peace.

Mandalas are considered representations of the universe, wholeness, and unity.
